PHOENIX (May 21, 2018) – With 30 new members from Civitan Village, part of Civitan Foundation, Civitan International chartered the Village Civitan Club on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Civitan Village, located at 12635 N. 42nd Street in Phoenix.

Sponsored by the Metro Civitan Club and Phoenix Birds Civitan Club, Village Civitan Club is comprised of members of Civitan Foundation and community members. Civitan Foundation provides life enriching programs and services for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

“This club has been a dream of ours for many years. In fact, our Camp Civitan was created by Civitan members in Williams, Arizona in 1968, so this club is part of our heritage,” said Civitan Foundation, Inc. Chief Executive Officer Dawn Trapp.

Civitan International is an organization of volunteer service clubs around the world, dedicated to helping people in their own communities. Founded in 1917 by a group of businessmen determined to make a difference in their community, today the organization has a special emphasis on helping people with developmental disabilities.
